Annoyed By TeleMarketers

I love Google Voice. I loved it back when it was still GrandCentral.

But today I had to set it up to send all calls straight to voicemail. 🙁

Why? Because I'm getting non-stop calls from telemarketers offering health insurance. How annoying!

They're actually leaving voicemail now – some of them at least. I guess after 2 days of their calls not getting answered they start leaving a message.

Here are a couple examples, transcribed by google:

I'll post more in the comments, as they come in, if they keep leaving messages… and my blog doesn't decide to die for the 4th time in 2 days.

Poblocki Sign Company Update

On July 2nd I posted about how the geniuses working for Poblocki Sign Company covered my car with fine metal shavings. It's nearly a month later, so it wouldn't be totally unreasonable to expect such a small sign to be completed… and it finally is!

About a week after the original incident, they actually blocked off the area around the sign to, I'm assuming, avoid stupidly making a mess of even more cars. After several days of the area being blocked off, they finally returned and mounted a new electronic display board.

And then nothing.. until early last week when they HOOKED THE SIGN UP! I was amazed. Progress! Except the only thing it's been displaying since then is a single blinking pixel in the bottom right corner.

Today though! WOOOOOOAAAAH! The sign now shows the time, date, and temperature!

I'm guessing that now that it's displaying information, Poblocki's work is finished.

Almost a whole month to mount a 3'x4' display.

It took awhile, but they did a good job. It's too bad that they had to start things off so horribly. In my book, the Poblocki Sign Company are still a bunch of asshats.

Poblocki Sign Company = Asshats

Today, in the UW-Whitewater parking lot, some clowns employed by Poblocki Sign Company (they have nice company t-shirts and trucks!) managed to cover my car, and the row of cars next to me with fine metal shavings.

I guess it's too much work, or would require too much thought to hang a tarp or something to block any debris resulting from taking a circular saw to a metal sign.

I guess I can't expect too much though… the State of Wisconsin is in a heavy budget crisis, which means they need to cut costs and hire sub-par companies to complete some tasks. Poblocki must have been the ideal match when they were looking to do some sign work.

Did I mention that I'm not a big fan of the metal shavings that the Poblocki Sign Co. got all over my car? Grrr…
