Grocery Shopping

I find it difficult to shop for fruits and vegetables. Unless I'm making something like a stir-fry, or salad, or soup, I have no idea what I should be stocking up on so I can snack on it whenever the urge hits. Carrots are easy. Apples, also easy. But it's much harder to "impulse buy" when it comes to real food.

Without colorful packaging, aggressive logos, and cartoon characters – I have no way to really choose between 2 types of the same product. What if I didn't know what an avocado was good for? Avocados would be completely unapproachable by me if they didn't have a cartoon avocado on their packaging with a clever slogan like "I may be ugly, but I make guacamole!" It could even be wearing a sombrero.

Can't someone genetically engineer fruits and vegetables to have recipes on their skin/shell? Can a society that lacks such knowledge and technology truly consider itself to be advanced?

I have one word for you.

    Stickers.

Fruit have delightful stickers. I know someone that collects these stickers. That is all.
